IN SEARCH OF THE REAL CUBA

Cuba with no coca cola. The first associations are simple: Fidel, communism, cigars, Che, old American cars. But how many simple associations and stereotypes have we already got rid off during our trips yet? So, we go to Cuba in order to see how it really is. The organisation of this trip was more difficult for us than we had thought. It is a journey back in time for us as regards to permits and socialist bureaucracy. Everything, however, in recent years has been changing rapidly and Cuba will probably change as well. In a few years time, sending motorcycles and hotel reservations will be trivial. But we go there mainly in order to see how different this country is from the Europe we know. The fact that there will be warm with palm trees, music, salsa, rumba and other dances do not mention, because it is obvious.
This is going to be an asphalt event for bigger motorcycles. Beer there will be, coca cola there will not. Cuba is the only country apart from North Korea in the world where coke is not available. How about smuggling some bottles in then?

Cuba is…

Like being taken back 60 years and time has stood still. If you think you have met the friendliest people in the world, once you have been to Cuba you will have a new country at the top of your list. One easiest countries to travel around, every province is unique and has something amazing to see, casa particulars are everywhere and everybody knows everybody.
The lack of internet is liberating.
It doesn’t matter how long you stay, it WILL NOT be long enough and on your way home you will be planning your return someday
