Day 1

Manali – Banjar

We start riding down the main valley. We can get used to the Indian traffic rules and left side riding. After few hours we leave the main road and turn to the West. The traffic decreases. It is easier now to appreciate the amazing landscape. Probably at this point we will also get acquainted to the Enfled bikes. You will never forget your first riding day in India!

Day 2

Banjar – Sangla Valley

Today we ride through Kinnaur Valley. The is much less traffic here. Although the road leads to the China border, the border itself has been closed for years. The road is pretty twist – paradise for bikers. We can admire the jungle and monkeys around us. Gradually we will be leaving the Hindu world and entering Bhuddist world.


We will eat a lot of rice during this trip. Probably to much…


The rain does not matter on such roads.


Day 3

Sangla Valley – Nako – Tabo

We ride up the Spiti Valley. We pass very steep walls: the valley looks more like a canyon than a typical valley. After several kilometers we finally reach the totally Buddhist world. The Tabo village, with beautiful monastery, is located at the altitude of 3200 meters. The monastery is one of the most liked by present Dalai lama. He comes here very often. The monastery was built in the X century!


Day 4

Tabo –  Komic – Kiber – Key – Kaza – Losar

We ride higher and higher. Finally we reach the village of Komic, the highest village in India (4200 meters). Kiber – the neighboring village is not much lower… On the way we visit Key monastery: one of the best located monasteries, view spectacular views on the entire valley.

Day 5

Losar – Chander tal – Batal – Keylong

We cross the Kunzun Pass today and Reach the main Leh – Manali road. It means we are in a place just 3 riding hours away from our starting point… After few off road days we reach some paved roads!

Day 6

Keylong – Sarchu ( 140 km )

This is our last Day in Lahaul. Sarchu is the bordering town between two worlds. The road deteriorates again. Most probably we will have to cross some creeks. We also climb to the 4800 meters pass – Baralachala. Luckily the road to the pass is quite good.

Day 7

Sarchu – Tso Kar ( 140 km )

This is the magic day with great views: we ride Gata Loops to the More Plains. We cross our first five thousand meters passes. We should already be acclimatized to the altitude, so we should not be affected by altitude sickness. On the More Plains, where the road is flat and good, we can check the maximum speed of our Enfields. We stay for the night near Tso Kar lake.


Day 8

Tso Kar – Sakti

It is long and intense day. We start with another 5000 meters pass and then rode along Indus Valley – it is one of the most beautiful in Ladakh! Most of this part of the road is paved, however the first 50 kilometers is still gravel.

Day 9

Sakti – Pangong

We cross the third highest motorable pass in the world – Chang La. It will be very high again. Our road in some parts will be paved, in some – gravel. Our destination for today is Pangong Tso. The bordering lake between India and China. It covers more than 4000 square meters. The scenery is magic. You will see!




Day 10

Pangong – Wari La – Nubra

We cross again Chang La pass and then cross another five thousand meters pass – Wari La. This pass is one of the less frequented and most beautiful in all Ladakh. There will be very few villages on the way. Probably we meet just a few people today. It is wild, tiresome and beautiful day!


Day 11

Nubra Valley – Khardung La – Leh  

There is te world highest desert in the Nubra Valley. There are sand dunes which we can ride… We test how the Enfields go on the sand. And then there is another extreme point on our way: the highest motorable pass in the world: Khardung La (5602 meters). Is that high in reality? We check it out…



Day 12

Leh – Lamayuru – Leh 

We Reach our destination point – Leh, the capital of Ladakh. But it is not the end yet. Who wants will go to Lamayuru monastery. Who Has enough of riding, will visit spectacular monasteries around Leh. Both options are tempting…
