THE LADIES IN TIEN SHAN

It is another edition of the journey dedicated exclusively to moto-girls. This time the target area will be Kyrgyzstan. We plan to see the most beautiful places in the country. Away from the main highways, with a sort of challenge to the guys who already have been to Central Asia on their large KTM’s and BMW 1200 GS’. We will visit five great lakes, besides the amazing vastnesses of the Issyk Kul and Song Kul we will go and see Chatyr Kol, Besh Tash, and above all, the Kol Suu.
On the entire route we will be accompanied by a support car, so that for all of us it will be a little easier on the gravel tracks of Tien Shan. During the expedition we will travel about 2,000 km of tracks. The ratio of asphalt vs. gravel is 30/70. Altitude may slightly exceed 4,000 metres. The forecast of temperatures is from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
The event is designed for motorcycles up to 650 cc. Throughout the journey we are accompanied by a car. You can participate in the event as a passenger in the vehicle. Nevertheless, the gents are invited to other events.

After 200 kilometers we get to Issyk, the largest (200 km long) lake of Kyrgyzstan. We will ride another 130 kilometres along its shore.
Day Two: -The Arabel Pass, accommodation in tents.
On the second day a gravel highway awaits us. It leads to a gold mine! Very soon we will reach the altitude of 4,000 meters. Subsequently an impressive downhill into an uninhabited valley. If the weather is fine the views are stunning.
  • Day Three: – The canyon of the Little Naryn is ahead of us. Again, views, views, and views… We will ride along the river, which will lead us to the town of the same name. Overnight luxury, of course, as in Kyrgyz terms.
  • Day Four: – We are on tarmac only briefly and then at At Bashi, we turn left towards the Chinese border. Bridges, mountains, higher and higher … A reward awaits us in the evening, Kol Suu, a place you will not forget. Of course if there is water in the lake. Night in a yurt.
  • Day Five: -From the lake we will go towards the Torugart pass, to the Tash Rabat caravanserai. We will not get any closer to China, the border is only a few kilometers distant. Night in a yurt.
  • Day Six: – From Tash Rabat we will ride to the most beautiful pass in Kyrgyzstan, and from there to the Song Kul lake. Did we mention that it is our favourite among all the Kyrgyz lakes? You are going to comprehend why. Night in a yurt.
  • Day Seven: – Day off at Song Kul, some horseriding, observing the everyday life of the Kyrgyz shepherds.
  • Day Eight: – We drive down from the lake via Karakechy, where we pass by an opencast coal mine. Then we  follow the Karakemen River to the Valley of Susamyru. Beautiful and green countryside. Night in a tent.
  • Day Nine: – After another 100 kilometres we drive down and hit a little frequented route leading towards Talas. In the afternoon we get to the Besh Tash National Park. Night in a tent.
  • Day Ten: – Besh Tash – Kirov artificial lake
The lakes of the National Park will take us a few hours that day, we will not ride a lot. We stop, however, at the great warm water to be able to take a bath…
    Night in a tent.
  • Day Eleven: – Kirov artificial lake – Besh Aral
We bid farewell to the asphalt and begin the great gravel adventure. Lots of climbing and even more photos you are going to take.
    Night in a tent.
  • Day Twelve: – Besh Aral – Toktomysh
Some passes await us plus one of the finest canyons of Kyrgyzstan. Night at the river under the open sky. A thousand star hotel.
  • Day Thirteen: – Toktomysh – Toktogul artificial lake
Only asphalt, but those views… We will ride along the flooded valley of Naryn. In the 70’s the waters of Naryn were dammed, a new track was laid out on a beautiful ledge. We will spend the night in a field of hemp on the lake.
  • Day Fourteen: – Return to Bishkek
Kyrgyzstan varies. Beautiful ravine leading to the pass where the Toktogul valley begins looks more like the Alps rather than Asian mountains.

I will show you, girls, why Kyrgyzstan is so unique: untouched nature, friendly people and the finest gravel tracks in the world. We will give a try to kumiss, ride on a horseback, bath in beautiful places, taste the delicious Kyrgyz cuisine and try to take the local brandy – all in all, we will introduce a fairytale element to our everyday motorcycle reality.
