Ladakh is pleasant and can easy to ride. We do not expect mayor problems here. But once we reach Pangi Valley the situation changes radically. Everything can happen here. The road is very narrow, with deep precipices. This is why this motorcycle adventure is only for expert riders. But we do not want too risky-oriented people. There is enough unpredictable situations there, we do not have to provoke any more challenges. We guarantee the breathtaking, picturesque views. We expect you have fun but behave reasonably. Our trip unifies the classical road through the-best-of Ladakh with very demanding part in Pangi Valley. We will cross few five thousand meters passes, we will ridy twisty, narrow and steep roads, but we will also visit Buddhist monasteries, including Dharamsala, the seat of present Dalai Lama.  Leh – Nubra Valley through the highest motorable pass Khardung La (tent)

Day 2
Nubra Valley – Pangong Tso Lake (tent)

There is the world highest desert in the Nubra Valley. There are sand dunes which we can ride… We test how the Enfields go on the sand. Then we head to another five thousand meters pass – Wari La. This pass is one of the less frequented and most beautiful in all Ladakh. There will be very few villages on the way. Probably we meet just a few people today. It is wild, tiresome and beautiful day! Our destination for today is Pangong Tso. The bordering lake between India and China. It covers more than 4000 square meters. The scenery is magic. You will see!

It is long and intense day. We start with ride along Indus Valley – it is one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and then we cross another 5000 meters pass and then rode! Most of the road is paved, however the last 50 kilometers is still gravel. We can meet there last Himalayan nomads – Changpa people.

Day 5
 Tso Kar – Sarchu (tent)

This is the magic day with great views: we ride through More Plains  and then descend Gata Loops to the. We again cross five thousand meters passes. We are already acclimatized to the altitude, so we should not be affected by altitude sickness. On the More Plains, where the road is flat and good, we can check the maximum speed of our Enfields.

Day 6
Sarchu – Udaipur (guest house)

We cross Baralachala Pass (4800 meters) and finally reach Pangi Valley. It starts easy but then the road becomes more and more difficult. Each kilometer there will be less and less traffic will and the views will be more and more astonishing.

Day 7
Udaipur – Killar  (hotel)

This is where serious riding starts.  Not many kilometers, but the riding will be unforgettable. Zero traffic. Landscapes not comparable to anything else what we have seen so far. Not many people speak English here. We have to get used to Hindu. You will probably take the big gest number of photo in your life…

IMG_4917It will be high.

Sometimes it can be wet…

It can rain or even snow.

Day 8
Killar – Garh (hotel)

If yesterday you thought that it cannot be more beautiful, you were wrong… Today we will have another breathtaking day. We cross fussy Such Pass – not the highest one, but due to the weather conditions one of the most difficult. We can expect everything: fog, clouds, rain…

IMG_5229Probably it will be also wet…
IMG_5349We can meet snow as well.

The valley will be very steep.

Day 9
Garh – Chamba (hotel)

We leave dry Himalayas and enter to the jungle. What a radical change! Different type of nature. Different animals. Everything is green here.

Day 10
Chamba – Dharamsala

All day long we will be riding on a twisty road. It is mostly paved, but there will be no chance for speeding. The traffic will increase.

Everything is green here. No more desert.

Day 11
 Dharamsala (day off)

We definitely deserve day off. Dharamsala, the seat of the current Dalai Lama is perfect place for that. The town itself is worth visitng. Maybe we are lucky and meet Dalai Lama himself… We will finally have contact with some civilization. It is also good place for gifts shopping.

Day 12
 Dharamsala – Manali

In theory the distance is not too big, but… it will be long day. A lot of villages on the way. Crowd, animals crossing the road. It requires your special attention! But the views will still be spectacular.
